Blessings Take A Look

Blessings Take A Look …

On rugged roads full of dusty dry dirt,
an anticipated shower a craving body of thirst!
Thankful for water in a land full of drought,
where weary souls feel faint but don’t pass out.

On bumpy roads with potholes that blow,
and jagged rocks causing a bus to go slow!
With spears and sticks that fall and thrown,
providing a trail and treacherous to sow.

On Pre-Mara arrival its not so grand,
forgotten, forsaken, but us taking a stand!
Pre-Mara the Nightmara we take a hand,
as Jesus marches in this foreign land.

On Kehancha village with a people in need,
we’re sent from heaven to plant some seeds!
Christ followers a blessing and for all to see,
the harvest of healing in hearts to believe.

On Mygori a village in a few hundred,
they come from afar on foot with a thunder!
Seeking a touch, love, and a prayer,
from those who represent a God who cares.

On trekking to Masai a village of tall warriors,
taking a deep breath and full of arrows!
God shows up in all his Glory,
reveals his plan and continues His story.

On Masai Mara a joyful adventure,
then Kichwa Tembo the place to venture!
Exotic animals and a view to remember,
creation a setting in glorious splendor.

On God Almighty a voice of thunder,
we stand in awe of his glorious wonder!
Seeking His face His portion forever,
while our hearts are united as we all surrender.

James 1:1-5
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

Composed by Nancy Clone (Faris) Byrne as a reflective prayer of praise while participating on  a medical-prayer mission trip to Kenya, Africa-August 2009.

Dedicated to the ICR team and Don Russell for reminding me to look for God’s blessings!
Also to all who sacrificially gave both financially and in prayer and for making this happen!
Bless you!
