“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” – Isaiah 55:8-9
I read something today which encouraged me about blocked or closed doors, that God often uses them to advance His cause!
For example, God closed the womb of a young Sarah so he could display His power to the elderly when Sarah became pregnant and gave birth in her old age. He shut the palace door on Moses, the prince, so he could open the shackles through Moses, the liberator, subsequently leading the Israelites out of Egypt unleashing the chains of slavery in pursuit of the Promised Land. God marched Daniel out of Jerusalem so he could use Daniel in Babylon, performing a miracle in the midst of certain death, and Daniel and his three friends survived the Lions Den! And not least of all, Jesus knew the challenge of a blocked door. When Jesus requested that this cup, the very painful path to the Cross to be bypassed, Father God said no. God said no to Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane so He could say yes to us at the gates of Heaven. God had a better plan… “for God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
Bottom line, its not that our plans are without worth, but that God’s plans are significantly wiser!
