Marriage

Dave Byrne - 60th - Bahamas 2015Marriage

Marriage isn’t for the faint at heart, its not always pretty. That part about for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health are the vows for a reason!

If your spouse is still your best friend, works extremely hard, has been with you through triumphs and tragedies, who loves you when your at your best and worst, who you’re proud to be married to, tell him every day until the day you pass from this life into eternity!

Dave and I were married in 1979.

Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. (Genesis 2:22-24)

He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD. (Proverbs 18:22)

Marriage has a unique place because it speaks of an absolute faithfulness, a covenant between radically different persons, male and female; and so it echoes the absolute covenant of God with his chosen, a covenant between radically different partners. (Rowan Williams)

Marriage should be a duet – when one sings, the other claps. (Joe Murray)

A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person. (Mignon McLaughlin)
