As the flower gives birth to reveal beauty, God who defines beauty gave birth to creation.
The light of God illuminates creation. As C.S. Lewis noted, “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” Trying to prove God exists using the created world, on the other hand, is akin to using a candle to find the sun.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:1-2)
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)
