BridgeLIFE

Pondering Christ as LIFE, the path, way, truth.

Many of us have trusted Jesus as Savior; we’ve trusted Him as Lord, but may have never trusted Him as life until we encounter something or someone which is absolutely beyond our ability to address or control.

Trusting Christ as life is all about “casting your burden upon the Lord” (Psalm 55:22). That it’s not an option, its a command, and given for our good. The Lord is our plumb-line, a much needed life-line.

God commands us to place the burden of living on earth upon our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to keep placing it on Him moment by moment 24/7. To many this may sound foolish, but in reality it’s the way to life God intended, what Jesus modeled with his own dependence upon Father God. We were not saved to carry our own burden(s). That quite simply is a lie the enemy of our soul wants us to believe. And not only is it a lie, it is a sin to carry our own burden(s)! Call it what it really is… independence, self-sufficiency, a self-righteousness that places yourself on the Throne of your life where only God should reside. It’s pride and pride has only one desire, it seeks to destroy. That’s what Adam and Eve experienced and succumbed to in the Garden of Eden, and God said, “Whatever is not from faith is sin” (Romans 14:23b).

♥️

Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22)

Whatever is not from faith is sin. (Romans 14:23b)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
