To gaze upon these petals formed to create beauty, then pondering God’s magnificent creation of woman.
Do you ever wonder why God made man and then woman and why not both at the same time?
Might it just be God did it for Adam’s benefit.
Might it be God wanted Adam to realize how much he needed a woman in his life…
… someone to complement and come alongside.
… someone to keep him accountable, close, near to God’s heart.
… someone like him but not.
… someone to love and make a difference.
… someone to help care for the Garden.
… someone like no other.
Isn’t that so like God, how God loves.
Just as Christ gave himself up for us, sacrificing himself on our behalf to ultimately bring beauty from death’ ashes, God caused Adam to fall asleep and in the same way took Adam’s rib and designed a perfect match for him.
Christ, the perfect substitute for us.
Woman, the perfect companion for man.
He didn’t create another man. He created woman.
The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.’” (Genesis 2:18)
