GA LakeviewMERGE

As I gaze afresh on this picture I’m prompted with the word MERGE and reflecting on a poem I wrote several years ago (see below).

Webster’s Dictionary defines “merge” as “to plunge or engulf in something, to cause to combine, unite or immerse”.

So, to merge with God is simply to immerse and unite, engulf and plunge with all your heart, mind, body and soul in pursuit of and in alignment with His heart.

Pondering afresh that God provided the way for the “cause to combine” through Jesus Christ and the indwelling work of the Holy Spirit. That it’s a choice to merge, and for those who do an eternal blessing is certainly in store. If not, one thing is for sure, the enemy, Satan, seeks to kill, steal and destroy. Therefore, I urge you to be ever so diligent and mindful to put on the armor of God.

Oh, how thankful I am that he searches my heart, exposes the junk, intercedes on my behalf. Are you?

And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. (Romans 7:27)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. (John 1:1-5)

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:13-18)

On the verge, a merge,
   those timeless tattered tears,
merging in a few, they grew,
   through falsified fears;
Yet, God’s voice, the WORD,
   becomes ever so clear,
providing the choice, to rebuke, to firmly steer.

Often and given the chance,
   His presence to mirror,
and lending an ear,
   to one listening to hear;
Diminishing the fear,
   of an imperfect one who peers,
embracing, redirecting, a blemished one HE holds so dear.

To beware of a mingling,
   the slippery,
      a surge in Satan’s smear,
an encounter,
      that deceiving twisted snare;
The un-welcomed,
   lying voice,
      a boisterous blare,
a swirling,
   the world search,
      for this enemy does not care.

To beware of the cunning,
   a clever wedge,
      desperate face all at once in despair,
the sleeping,
   being plundered,
      as wonder took on a dare;
The thinking,
   a foolish thought,
      a succumbing unaware,
to awaken,
   beloved child,
      seek only wisdom and be in prayer.

To turn, and to Father God,
   to MERGE,
      only in his comfort so dear,
the hovering,
   Holy Spirit,
      that presence always clear;
His still,
   a whispering voice,
      will be spoken and ever so bold,
reveals a different,
   a bigger story,
      one never too frail or too old.

To be, and an offering,
   a surrendering of a soul that satisfied stroll,
in restoration and in truth,
   the demolished lie goes untold;
His captivating voice,
   a discerning choice,
the whispered and the treasured,
   then a proclaiming rejoice.

Released, and in washing praise,
   is a rest in earthly days,
an unleashing, a cleansing grace,
   peace on the one who prays;
Strengthened, and always a process,
   this assurance is for always,
graced, and in His Presence,
   a MERGE of Heaven placed on display.
